Video recording is now available
Capture smooth scrolling videos, page transitions, and interactive animations. Perfect for demos, documentation, and marketing materials.
We're excited to announce a feature that many of you have been asking for: video recording. You can now capture MP4 and WebM videos of any webpage, complete with smooth scrolling, animations, and interactions.
What can you record?
Video recording opens up a whole new set of use cases:
- Scroll recordings - Automatically scroll through a page to showcase full content
- Animation capture - Record CSS animations, transitions, and interactive elements
- Demo videos - Create product demos without screen recording software
- Documentation - Show users how interfaces work with embedded videos
How it works
Recording a video is as simple as changing your endpoint from /take to /animate and specifying a scenario:
https://api.lambdashot.com/animate?url=https://example.com&scenario=scroll&duration=5 Available scenarios include:
scroll- Smoothly scroll from top to bottomwait- Record for a duration without interaction (great for animations)custom- Execute custom JavaScript during recording
Output formats
Videos are available in two formats:
- MP4 - Best compatibility, works everywhere
- WebM - Smaller file sizes, great for web embedding
Pricing
Video recording is priced at 7 cents per video, reflecting the additional compute resources required. There are no minimum commitments or separate plans - it's the same pay-as-you-go model you're used to.
